From Kooroora

Desolate night dreams sleeping,
Run past Kooroora,
Angry words tore apart
The bridal veil of Kooroora.

Thunder lightning strikes the sky
On the ground lays sleeping Kooroora
Flashes driven from her eyes
Tear stained eyes of Kooroora

Restless child stilled by time
Naked heart folded away
Like a stranger hidden
The last resting place of Kooroora.

Kooroora is a poem by the Australian poet, Henry Kendall. This is my feminist reinterpretation of that poem and the violence against women that is portrayed.
